Our Values

We take corporate and social responsibility seriously at Demographix:

Environmental responsibility

It is our aim to influence suppliers of services and resources used by Demographix to adopt best practices on environmental concerns. We encourage our own staff to: recycle materials where possible and to recycle consumables; make use of power-saving devices on computers and heating systems; use public transport where possible, and otherwise source company vehicles with regard to emission standards; secure goods from sustainable sources; and adopt a low-carbon policy on all relevant matters.

Social and ethical responsibility

Prince's Trust logo

Demographix seeks to meet the highest standards of social, ethical and employment practice. We aim to observe best practice in all relevant areas, including: general employment practices, the employment of appropriate workers, the working environment, respect for the individual worker, equal opportunities and freedom of association. We encourage similar standards in our sub-contractors and suppliers. Through our community support programme, we have supported research at The Prince’s Trust since 2006, by way of access to our services, advice, regular training and support.

Diversity and equal opportunities

Demographix is committed to Equal Opportunities for all, irrespective of colour, race, religious belief, ethnic or national origins, gender, marital status, sexuality, disability or age. We look to build business relationships with those suppliers who support and apply similar principles. Our Terms and Conditions clearly state that users must not "use the Demographix services for any illegal purpose or to promote violence or race hatred or discrimination".

Accessibility

Demographix takes an active interest in accessibility issues and endeavours to achieve the highest accessibility standards – including AAA level compliance of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) of the W3C. Demographix surveys aim to meet the requirements of respondents using screen readers, keyboard navigation, or text-only browsers. We also try to go beyond automated testing and think about creating survey pages so that they are easy to view and navigate by people with visual, motor, cognitive and other disabilities. This includes designing question types that are accessible to respondents who cannot use a mouse to "drag and drop" items.
